10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday, Nov. 11
Meet: At the Marathon Gas Station on Highway 64
Bring: Loppers, chainsaw, gloves, personal boat, lunch, water. If you don’t have any tools, let us know and we’ll provide them.
Project: At the Little River Campsite, we will be clearing a debris jam on the French Broad that is currently preventing paddlers from passing through. We will paddle to the jam and work on the clearing the trees from our boats.
10 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15
Meet: In Marshall
Bring: Your personal boat, weed-eater, loppers, gloves, lunch and water. Let us know if you don’t have these items and we’ll provide them.
Project: We will be cleaning up the Evan’s Island Campsite. General maintenance will include weed-eating, mowing, and clearing debris from the tent sites. Evan’s Island is a paddle-in only site, so we will put in the river a few miles above and paddle to the site.
10 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19
Meet: Ingles parking lot (6478 Brevard Road, Etowah)
Bring: Chainsaws, loppers, gloves, lunch, water. Let us know if you do not have these tools.
Project: At the Rhodes Ranch Campsite we will be building a new stairway from the river. This will involve heavy machinery and tools to cut down trees and debris in the way.
10 a.m.-4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5
Meet: At the Marathon Gas Station on Highway 64
Bring: Lunch and water, and warm clothes!
Project: We will be installing a composting toilet at the Little River Campsite and doing general maintenance to clean the campsite up.
