We look forward to seeing our friends and supporters at our annual Spring Gathering, scheduled for Saturday, April 6 (2013) in Sylva.
The fun daylong event will feature a leadership workshop, two afternoon hikes (your choice) and will be followed by an evening program from 6-9 p.m. featuring a barbecue dinner, square dancing and musical guests, The Freight Hoppers.

- Leadership Workshop (Free!)
10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Community Table, 23 Central St., Sylva.
This great workshop is called “Taking Passion and Activism to the Next Level in Local Communities,” and it will provide an overview of opportunities to make positive change your community.
Panelists:
- Susan Ervin – Macon county planning board
- William Shelton – former Jackson County Commissioner and owner, Shelton Family Farm
- Tommy Jenkins – director, Macon County Economic Development Commission, former state representative and senator
There is no cost to attend.

- Daytime Outings (Free!):
Choose between an easy hike near Sylva, with a focus on wildflowers or a more strenuous outing to Cedar Cliff Mountain. This will be an out and back four-mile hike, ascending some cliffs. More Details – HERE
Hike Details: Hikers will meet to Carpool to hiking areas at The Community Table, 23 Central St., Sylva
1:30pm meeting time for the “Cedar Cliffs Hike” and
2:00 pm meeting time for the “Wildflower Hike”
both hikes will return to the Community Table by 5pm
- Evening Party:
6-9 p.m. at The Community Table, 23 Central St., Sylva
The party will feature a BBQ dinner by John Faulk, Firehouse Catering, beer from Bear Waters Brewery, music by The Freight Hoppers, and square dance caller Joe Sam Queen.
Cost: $5/member; $7/nonmember

From Highway 74, take Exit 83 at Sylva. From exit, turn left onto Central Street by the Presbyterian Church. The Community Table is the large brown building at the end of the parking area.
