Darby Stipe, AmeriCorps Western Region Water Quality and Habitat Restoration Associate

Darby found her passion for the outdoors while growing up on the shores of a Michigan lake. She moved to Ann Arbor to attend the University of Michigan and graduated with a degree in the Environment with a focus on Environmental Law and Policy. She joined Americorps to begin pursuing a career in meaningful conservation work. She’s excited to learn about Western North Carolina’s ecosystems and improve her tree identification skills. In her spare time, Darby enjoys hiking local trails with her pup, Penny, and learning about regenerative agriculture.
