Julie Lehman, Creation Care Alliance Engagement Manager
Julie Lehman has spent most of her career working with congregations and people of faith around spiritual growth and curiosity, leadership development, environmental education, and enjoying God’s creation. She spent a decade at Warren Wilson College working on church relations in partnership with the school’s Environmental Leadership Center. From 2015 to 2025, she worked at Montreat Conference Center, where she focused on church relations and development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Davidson College and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Columbia Theological Seminary, with a thesis focused on environmental theology and ethics.
She lives in Asheville in an intergenerational home with her husband (a pastor), her mother, one of their two adult sons (while he attends nursing school), and two rescue dogs, Xena and Zoe. When she is not worshiping at Michael’s Church in Spruce Pine, NC, she is active at a United Church of Christ in Asheville, planning and leading Worship Outside the Walls events that keep members informed about and engaged in the community. She has been active with the Creation Care Alliance and MountainTrue as both a volunteer and a board member. The daughter of interfaith parents, she is excited for the opportunity to build and strengthen relationships with and collaboration between faith communities that share a call to care for creation.
