Come help us repair our local stream banks by planting live stakes. We will provide the tools and materials needed as well as education on stream bank repair. Live stakes are cuts from native trees and shrubs that are able to grow when planted into stream banks to stabilize and improve the health of riparian habitats. With your help we can make our local streams healthy and resilient! This event will be water-based. Participants MUST be comfortable in a canoe (provided by MountainTrue).
For more information on live staking, see https://mountaintrue.org/mountaintrue-faq-live-staking/
What to bring: Expect to be outside all day so please dress in clothes that you don’t mind getting wet and dirty and bring what you need to stay warm. Participants should bring their own water and lunch/snacks. Rubber boots are the preferred footwear.
Location: the exact location will be emailed to registered participants closer to the workday.
Anybody under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the workday and must be comfortable in a canoe.
All volunteers are eligible to receive a complimentary annual membership to MountainTrue. To activate your membership, please email members@mountaintrue.org
