For four decades, Blowing Rock has been celebrating the opening of Trout Season with friendly competition and prizes! The Blowing Rock Trout Derby is a much-anticipated early springtime event in the village. They’ll have some of the best trout fishing anywhere in the Southeast, so the combination of the Derby and coming to visit your Riverkeeper crew should surely “reel you in!”
This family friendly event is an all-time favorite of ours, and we can’t wait to chat with you. We’ve got lots of new MountainTrue merchandise and new projects, so come check out our table! We’ll be hanging out with our friends from the Speckled Trout in their parking lot for day.

The MountainTrue Riverkeeper table will be set up in the parking lot of the Speckled Trout (916 Main St, Blowing Rock, NC 28605).
Parking will be available in downtown Blowing Rock and by the Robbins Pool for Derby competitors.
