Bringing the Blue Ridge Back to Your Backyard

Every spring, MountainTrue partners with our friends at Carolina Native Nursery to bring you a curated selection of native trees, shrubs, and perennials. Native plants are the foundation of a healthy ecosystem—they prevent erosion, filter runoff before it reaches our streams, and provide vital food and shelter for local wildlife. By choosing native, you aren’t just planting a garden; you’re joining a movement to protect the places we share.

Planting Native Matters for Our Mountains

MountainTrue staff and volunteers spend significant time and resources removing nonnative invasive plants from our region’s landscapes. Planting native species is the best way to ensure that invasive plants don’t take back over. From pollinator-friendly blooms to wildlife-loving shrubs, these plants inspire a “sense of place” and promote wise stewardship of our natural resources.
