Join Mountaintrue and the Clay County Historical and Arts Council for a volunteer workday to remove nonnative invasive plants at the CCHAC native botanical Garden, just below the Old Jail Museum in Hayesville. We will primarily be pulling up roots and using hand tools to remove invasive plants like Chinese privet, bittersweet, and multiflora rose. We have large and small tasks available, so you don’t need to be able to do strenuous physical labor in order to participate. Event will be capped at 30 participants.
No prior experience is necessary; we will provide tools and training.
The rain date for this event is Oct 31, 2026. Please save both dates on your calendar.
Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the workday.
As much as we love our furry friends, pets are not permitted at this workday.
All volunteers are eligible to receive a complimentary annual membership to MountainTrue. Please email members@mountaintrue.org to activate yours!
