Macroinvertebrate Sampling Demonstration at Corn Creek in Young Harris, GA 10/23

Join us on Friday, October 23rd for an up close look at the life that lives below the water’s surface. Participants will get the chance to sample for and learn to identify aquatic macroinvertebrates living in Corn Creek!

Come learn about the importance of these insects, mollusks & crustaceans and what they can tell us about the quality of the water. Additionally, learn more about how you can volunteer and join MountainTrue in collecting seasonal macroinvertebrate data through the Georgia Adopt-A-Stream program.

At this event, participants will be wading into the creek and kicking up some rocks on the stream bottom. We are asking that attendees feel comfortable wading through fast flowing water.

All are welcome at this event but those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring closed-toed shoes (required!) that you feel comfortable wading in and glasses if you wear them!
