Cullowhee Revitalization (CuRvE) and MountainTrue are laying the groundwork for the creation of a future riverside park along the Tuckasegee River in the Cullowhee community of Jackson County, NC. One step toward the goal is to eradicate nonnative invasive plants – including kudzu and Chinese privet – from the project site, which is between Old Cullowhee Road, Wayehutta Road, and the Tuckasegee River.

Join Mountaintrue and CuRvE for a volunteer workday to remove nonnative invasive plants at the site of the future Cullowhee River Park in Cullowhee. We will primarily be pulling up roots and using hand tools to remove invasive plants like Chinese privet, bittersweet, and kudzu. We have large and small tasks available, so you don’t need to be able to do strenuous physical labor in order to participate. No prior experience is necessary; we will provide tools and training.

Rain Date: November 21st. Please save both days on your calendar.

All volunteers are eligible to receive a complimentary annual membership to MountainTrue. To activate yours, please email members@mountaintrue.org
