Join MountainTrue for a Hickory Creek cleanup in Bat Cave on Saturday, 11/21 from 1pm – 4pm!

We’ll be working to remove Hurricane Helene debris from along the banks of the creek. This will be a (mainly) land-based cleanup, but folks are encouraged to bring waders and boots if they would like to help with debris removal from the Creek.

Parking Details: please park at 309 Gerton Hwy (beside the Bat Cave Volunteer Fire Department). Our friend Joe from Spokes of Hope will be there to shuttle volunteers from the parking area to the cleanup site.

Clean-up location: 917 Gerton Hwy

*Be advised: if you plan to arrive via 74A please allow for additional travel time due to roadway construction and temporary lights.

Please bring water, snacks, sturdy (closed-toe) shoes/boots and anything else you might need to be comfortable during the cleanup.

We will provide gloves, buckets, trash bags, “grabbers,” shovels, bug spray, dump trailer for debris, etc.

Additionally, volunteers are welcome to join us for a drink (optional) after the cleanup at the 828 Taproom at 3100 Memorial Hwy (Lake Lure). All volunteers are eligible for a complimentary annual membership to MountainTrue. To activate yours, please email members@mountaintrue.org
