Linda Tatsapaugh, Organizing Manager

Linda is grateful to be doing the good work of organizing the community to protect our ancient and beautiful Western North Carolina mountain region. From early days of family camping and hiking, Linda fully embraced the outdoors during a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. She built a career drawing on the healing power of the outdoors in a wilderness program and then ran Talisman Summer Camp for young people with autism or ADHD for 24 years. Including a decade living in a self-built cabin on a McDowell County mountain, WNC’s wild lands have always been integral to Linda’s well-being and happiness, and she is glad to pay it forward.

This is Linda’s third role with MountainTrue. Initially a member of The Good Earth Stewards of McDowell County – a chapter of the WNC Alliance, MountainTrue’s predecessor – Linda then served on the board from 2008-2014, including a year as board chair. She was honored to take part in the start of the mergers and transition to MountainTrue. Currently, she serves as the board chair of EcoForesters, which helps landowners develop sustainable plans for their forests. She is excited to enter this third phase, as part of the professional team at MountainTrue. She is also proud to be one of three Davidson College Religion majors on staff. Go Wildcats!
