PROOF POINTS

  • CLEAN WATERS: Forced Duke Energy to clean up their coal ash pits at their Lake Julian and Cliffside power plants.
  • RESILIENT FORESTS: Stopped the practice of clearcutting in the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests.
  • HEALTHY COMMUNITIES: Helped pass a ballot initiative to raise $30 million for workforce housing in Buncombe County.
  • HEALTHY COMMUNITIES/GREEN ENERGY: Helped pass a moratorium on cryptocurrency mines in Buncombe County and are working to stop cryptomining throughout our region.
  • GREEN ENERGY: Stopped Duke Energy from building unnecessary powerlines through our forests and worked with them to invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy instead.
