A Night Of Poetry: Marybeth Holleman’s “tender gravity”

October 6, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join MountainTrue on October 6th for an evening of poetry, conversation, wine, and live music to celebrate Marybeth Holleman’s tender gravity. In her debut book of poetry, Asheville local Marybeth draws on her childhood in North Carolina and her adulthood in Alaska to consider the wisdoms expressed through sundew and sphagnum, a paddling trip and a charging bear, constellations and the tiniest bog plant, always with yearning and a draw of breath.

Enjoy a special musical guest, then participate in a discussion with Marybeth, Laura Hope-Gill, and MountainTrue staff as we talk about our relationship with poems and nature, fears and sorrows for the planet, and what taking action looks like.

Books will be available for purchase and signing, with Marybeth’s royalties going to support MountainTrue’s work for resilient forests, clean waters, and healthy communities in the Southern Blue Ridge. The book signing will begin around 7:30pm.

Come support MountainTrue while celebrating poetry, music, and our beautiful mountain home at Plēb Urban Winery, River Arts District, 289 Lyman St, Asheville, NC 28801 on October 6th, 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
