Craggy National Scenic Area Hike near Asheville, NC

October 11 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Congressman Chuck Edwards has the opportunity to make history by creating North Carolina’s first National Scenic Area, an idea which has broad local support. Come hike the Big Butt Trail with MountainTrue Biologist Josh Kelly and experience the beautiful forests, views, flora, and fauna of the Craggy Mountains.

The hike will be strenuous and will proceed unless heavy rains or wind are in the forecast.
*Children are welcome if they can hike up to 6 strenuous miles. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the outing.

As much as we love our furry friends, no pets are permitted on this hike.

Please remember to:
-Wear sturdy hiking shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather (including rain gear).
-Bring water, lunch, snacks and any medications you may need

Carpool from Asheville will meet at 9:15 at The Folk Art Center.
