On Thursday, May 9th, Hendersonville Green Drinks welcomes Caroline Yongue, Director and Founder of Carolina Memorial Sanctuary and the Center for End of Life Transitions, and Cassie Barrett, Director of Operations for Carolina Memorial Sanctuary. Carolina Memorial Sanctuary is a green cemetery that offers eco-friendly burials to people looking to explore more natural, conservation-oriented burial options. Caroline founded Carolina Memorial Sanctuary in 2015, and since then, has been working to help residents of Western North Carolina understand their options and legal rights to allow them to make informed decisions about the impact they have after their deaths. She believes that encouraging green burials is one step towards building a better, healthier planet. In their talk, Caroline and Cassie will discuss the green burial process and the ways it can allow people to use their deaths to encourage life and conservation in Western North Carolina.
