In the wake of Hurricane Helene, MountainTrue is dedicated to addressing the urgent needs of our community.
Every month, MountainTrue hosts Green Drinks at Black Bear Coffee and Espresso in downtown Hendersonville. Join us this month for a presentation by Bob Gale, MountainTrue’s Ecologist and Public Lands Director. Bob will discuss the threat of invasive plant species, how they spread and choke out native species that are important to the ecological balance and health of our parks and forests.
MountainTrue is a leader in invasive plant species removal and has pioneered methods to eradicate invasives while leaving neighboring native plants unharmed. MountainTrue has been contracted by the Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy, The Nature Conservancy and the U.S. Forest Service, and Bob serves on the Southern Appalachian Bog Learning Network and chairs its Non-native Invasive Plant Committee.
