Solarize Asheville-Buncombe Launch Event

Solarize Asheville-Buncombe will kick off our long-awaited community-based group purchasing campaign to help local property owners access affordable solar power with a virtual launch event on April 7. The event will feature Vice-Mayor Sheneika Smith, Buncombe County Commission Chair Brownie Newman, local campaign organizers and others!
Solarize campaigns harness the power of the crowd to save some major green while residences and businesses go green; the more community members that participate, the greater the savings!
The Solarize campaign is guided by a coalition of 11 local organizations including MountainTrue, Green Built Alliance, Green Opportunities and Hood Huggers International. The April 7 launch event will introduce and explain how solar power equipment, battery storage and energy-saving technologies are available for the first time locally through a group-purchasing platform this year in Buncombe County.
Participants will learn about the benefits of solar, new clean energy technologies such as battery storage, available incentives and how the program works. Participants will also get the chance to meet the campaign organizers and the selected contractors!
