Join MountainTrue Biologist Josh Kelly for a 4-mile hike where you will learn about wildflowers, songbirds, and other sights and sounds of the Appalachian Spring. Midway through the hike, the group will stop to pull garlic mustard for two hours and help maintain the native herbaceous diversity in a very rich forest. Wildflowers will be peaking above 4,000' on this scenic section of the Appalachian Trail. Originally scheduled for May 3rd, this event has been rescheduled to May 10 due to high winds and unsafe conditions.

MountainTrue Volunteer Appreciation Party in Boone, NC 9/18

The Valle Crucis Community Park 2892 Broadstone Road, Valle Crucis, NC, United States

To celebrate the end of Swim Guide season, we would like to honor our volunteers for their efforts in our clean water work and post-Helene restoration efforts over the last year. This is also a chance to reconnect with our volunteers involved with our monthly VWIN chemical sampling program, livestaking program, and our cleanup volunteers. We are so excited to share stories of how their recovery efforts have made a difference in the New and Watauga River watersheds following Hurricane Helene.
