Oklawaha Walk & Talk, August 20: The Glory of Fall Wildflowers

Patton Park 1730 Asheville Highway, Hendersonville , NC, United States

Over the next several months, the Friends of the Oklawaha Greenway will host “Oklawaha Greenway Walks and Talks,” a series of educational outings. The second in the series -- on Saturday, August 20, at 10 a.m. -- focuses on the glory of fall wildflowers growing along the Greenway. The program is open to the public at no charge. Meet at Patton Park in the circular pavilion near the basketball courts. The walk will be about 90 minutes, returning to Patton Park. The hike will be held rain or shine.

Join the French Broad Riverkeeper for a section paddle trip on the French Broad River! This trip will be from Barnard to Stackhouse and has several class III rapids. The Nantahala Outdoor Center will be guiding rafts and/or providing duckies (depending on water levels) for this section of the paddle.

This year's festival takes place on the beautiful grounds of Sierra Nevada’s Mills River Brewery under the open sky of an outdoor amphitheater carved into the side of a hill and located on the banks of the French Broad River.
