Design Volunteers Needed! MountainTrue is excited to announce the launch of a community-driven design program aimed at helping rebuild areas in Western North Carolina that were devastated by Hurricane Helene. Currently, our Recovery and Resilience Design Teams are focused on providing assistance to the Swannanoa and Marshall communities. Ultimately, we hope to provide critical design services to communities throughout Western North Carolina. Design Volunteers Needed! Calling all Anglers! Go on your own or with your friends to your favorite locations on the Broad River or any tributary. You can fish one day or all week long! The Bass Shack is sponsoring the event this year and offering prizes for Broad’s Best Angler, Biggest Bass, Biggest Panfish, Biggest Catfish and most unusual fish. 
This is your chance to snag a masterpiece with heart! These one-of-a-kind works--created by fellow supporters-- might just become your next favorite wall art and a daily reminder to stand strong for the places we all love to call home. The online art auction will kick off at 3 pm on Sunday, August 24th, and will run until 11:45 pm on Friday, September 20th. Winners will be contacted the week of September 22nd. Join Jewish disaster relief organization, NECHAMA, and MountainTrue for a river clean-up and celebration of Reverse Tashlich. Reverse Tashlich, an initiative by Repair the Sea, invites communities to take hands-on, meaningful action during the High Holidays by cleaning up our waterways. Clean-up will focus on Hurricane Helene Debris and will be land-based. Participants can expect to learn about NECHAMA and take part in a short ritual to honor Reverse Tashlich during the clean-up. |
