In the wake of Hurricane Helene, MountainTrue is dedicated to addressing the urgent needs of our community.
You're invited to MountainTrue's High Country Fish Fry at the Breitenstein’s “Field of Dreams” on the banks of the Watauga River in scenic Valle Crucis hosted by Donna Breitenstein, Steve and Sharon Breitenstein, Harvard Ayers and Mackie Hagaman and Liz Riddick of Keller Williams High Country Realty. Join MountainTrue staff and supporters to celebrate the work of the Watauga Riverkeeper and MountainTrue on behalf of our forests, rivers and communities. There will be fish frying for you as well as plenty of vegetarian fare. We will have Melissa Reaves there as our special musical guest.
Join us and help restore native plant communities by controlling non-native invasive plants at Richmond Hill Park. This is the City of Asheville's only forested park and is home to many special native plant and animal species! Volunteers help to stop the spread of harmful non-native invasive species and return native species to the unique park.
Join the French Broad Riverkeeper for a section paddle trip on the French Broad River! This trip will be from Redmond Dam to Barnard as an easy class II rapids section. The cost is $10 per person.
