Earth Day Clean up Challenge
Challenge yourself to clean up trash at a local Western North Carolina area in need. Share your before and after clean up photos on Facebook and Instagram by tagging @mtntrue with the hashtag #MTEarthDayChallenge. The person who collects the most trash in the photo shared with us will win a prize announced at 7pm on 4/22. During this time we encourage you to collect trash individually, or with your family. *To be eligible for the prize, participants must be registered on the online signup form*
2020 Liquidlogic Kayak Raffle to Benefit MountainTrue
Liquidlogic has generously donated a brand new Braaap 69 whitewater kayak to MountainTrue to raffle off this spring as a fundraiser. Here's what Liquidlogic has to say about their new boat: "The Braaap is the progression in how a performance river running boat is defined. The Braaap has enough volume for all but your most challenging runs, yet it is small enough to control in the air, pivot turn, and surf like a dream." All raffle proceeds benefit the programs of MountainTrue - in particular, our four Riverkeepers who work hard to keep our region's rivers running clean for boaters to enjoy all year round! Virtual Earth Day Vigil
Although we are unable to gather in person this year, we are excited to host a virtual Earth Day Vigil in celebration of the 50th Anniversery of Earth Day. The vigil will include readings, prayers, songs, and information about creation care from speakers from throughout Western North Carolina. Following the vigil, we will host a "reception" where we invite you to grab your dinner or favorite beverage and join us for a discussion and reflection.
