In the wake of Hurricane Helene, MountainTrue is dedicated to addressing the urgent needs of our community.
On Monday afternoons weather permitting this winter and spring, MountainTrue is hosting volunteer workdays to control nonnative invasive plants and restore native habitat along the Murphy River Walk & Canoe Trail.
Join MountainTrue and the City of Hendersonville to combat streambank sediment erosion in our local waterways through live staking workdays in our Southern Region.
We rely on volunteers to help us monitor stream health throughout Henderson and Polk Counties and participate in biomonitoring twice a year, in April and October. Through the Stream Monitoring Information Exchange (SMIE) biomonitoring program, we sample aquatic macroinvertebrates, or aquatic insects, as indicators of water quality. Both new and returning SMIE volunteers are welcome.
