This act has led to the regulation and protection of American's rights to clean, healthy waterways for fifty years. Appalachian Mountain Brewery will be hosting this event to celebrate the environmental successes through this legislative action over the past fifty years as well as our local clean water efforts in our community.
On Monday afternoons weather permitting this winter and spring, MountainTrue is hosting volunteer workdays to control nonnative invasive plants and restore native habitat along the Murphy River Walk & Canoe Trail. Let’s work together to continue to improve the wildlife habitat and natural beauty at the Murphy River Walk!
Join Biologist Josh Kelly on the Grassland Restoration & Fire Ecology Hike. On this hike will explore a shortleaf pine-oak savanna on Sandymush Gameland that is in the process of being restored. We will discuss diverse topics such as fire ecology, bio-physical characteristics of Blue Ridge woodlands and savannas, and native species associated with grasslands. Registration is required.
