In the wake of Hurricane Helene, MountainTrue is dedicated to addressing the urgent needs of our community.
Join the Appalachian Trail Conservancy on April 28th for their Roan Mountain garlic mustard pull. Volunteers will gather at Roan Mountain in Tennessee to pull and bag as much garlic mustard as they can! This invasive non-native plant has invaded many heavily trafficked areas of the state park. Let's join together to protect the biodiversity and habitat along the A.T. landscape.
Join MountainTrue staff for what should be peak wildflower conditions along a beautiful section of the Appalachian Trail near Hot Springs. We will hike five miles round trip to pull garlic mustard in the AT corridor and enjoy the sights and sounds of spring along the way. The hike is very strenuous.
MountainTrue, in partnership with Mainspring Conservation Trust, is hosting another volunteer workday to control non-native invasive plants and restore native habitat at the Jackson County Greenway. We will primarily be pulling up roots and using hand tools to remove invasive shrubs like Chinese privet and then treat the stumps. No prior experience is necessary; we will provide tools and training.
