Trout Fest and Blowing Rock Trout Derby in Blowing Rock, NC 5/3

Come visit your local Riverkeeper team and celebrate clean water with us in Blowing Rock. Our team will have a booth at The Speckled Trout Outfitters, ready to talk about water quality, native plants, and conservation efforts in the High Country. Saturday, May 3rd also celebrates the 45th Blowing Rock Trout Derby, highlighting the opening of Trout Season with competition and prizes. Fun for all ages, and the whole family!
Due to the effects of Hurricane Helene, the trout derby is being held a month later than usual to allow the trout population to replenish in local streams and at the local fisheries that support the Trout Derby. The adult portion of the Derby will be catch and release only, again for conservation purposes.
