Why Plant Natives?

MountainTrue Western Regional Program Coordinator, Tony Ward will discuss the importance of native plants for ornamental/landscape uses. He will identify native plants’ value as food for wildlife (and humans too!), wildlife habitat, and resistance to common pests and diseases. The talk will also cover the importance of native trees and shrubs along streams for sustaining good water quality. Several different native species will be highlighted and tips for identification provided.
