In the wake of Hurricane Helene, MountainTrue is dedicated to addressing the urgent needs of our community.
Our western region office is again holding a Native Tree and Shrub Sale this fall. Choose from 25 species of native trees and shrubs, ranging from large shade trees, native ornamentals, pollinator species, and those particularly beneficial to wildlife. Ordering is available now through November 11 and pick up will be on Saturday November 16 from 9:00am until 2:00pm.
This workshop is hosted in conjunction with the High Country Habitat Restoration Coalition, a group of organizations dedicated to stamping out invasive species in the headwaters region of our mountains. Come join our group of experts to learn about some of the worst invasives in the region and help clean up the Boone Greenway. If the weather holds, we will be focusing on a spot that is tricky to access when the water is high. The dry weather might not have been welcome in many ways, but it is giving us a window to treat! We will also take a short walkabout and point out other invasive issues along the Greenway, and what is being done to protect it.
