Concerned about chemical levels in the river? Help Watauga Riverkeeper Volunteers collect water samples at designated sites for chemical analysis at a state-certified lab. This volunteer opportunity is ongoing, please sign up and we will get in contact about details.
Come join our friends from the Overmountain Chapter of Trout Unlimited for a clean up in Tennessee. They have teamed up with local fishing guides, paddling enthusiasts, and community members to host this event for the 6th year in a row on the South Holston and Watauga Rivers.
Come raise a glass and celebrate World Water Day at Appalachian Mountain Brewery’s Taphouse in Boone, NC. Watauga Riverkeeper, Andy Hill, will share some of the recent clean water victories, and discuss challenges to water conservation in the High Country. Portions of each pint of Hop Rain Drop goes directly to benefit MountainTrue through AMB’s We Can So You Can foundation, with a focus on revitalization of our communities, mountains & rivers.
Come plant with us at one of our live staking work days in March! Live staking is the process of planting live cuttings of dormant trees in the riparian buffer zone along the stream bank which helps filter storm water runoff, protect vital aquatic habitat, and prevent soil erosion and sediment pollution.

Join us at the Appalachian Theatre of the High Country for a night of fly-fishing films and fun. A series of ten films will be shown over a two hour period. The fun will include an exclusive raffle, proceeds of which will go to support your Watauga Riverkeeper!
