Each year, MountainTrue hosts a gathering of our members to recognize and honor outstanding volunteers, vote on new board members, and reflect on a year of hard work and accomplishments. We hope you can join us to recognize and honor MountainTrue’s 2021 Southern Region Volunteer of the Year: Erica Shanks! We are excited to be gathering in person this year and hope you can come connect with us. All attendees are required to be vaccinated. 

Join MountainTrue's Americorps Water Quality Administrator, Mara Chamlee, to learn about her Master's Capstone work at Colorado State University focused on the Yampa River in Northwest Colorado. Although the Western United States faces a different set of challenges when it comes to water conservation, there are many lessons to be learned on how communities define what a "healthy river" means to them. Those lessons can be applied to river systems across the country and here in Western North Carolina.

It's Spring Equinox! Warmth is returning! At the cusp of this seasonal change, we celebrate World Water Day and recognize the Broad River watershed relationships that tie us together! Come learn about our river from the Broad Riverkeeper, enjoy fellowship and outdoor games with Rutherford Outdoor Coalition, and participate in a Dreaming Stone celebration of the sacred gift of water at the Broad River. Registration is required for this event.
