Renewal: Celebrating the Merger of the Hiwassee River Watershed Coalition and MountainTrue

Staurolite Farm 60 Staurolite Drive, Brasstown, NC

Join us for a celebration of the July 1 merger of MountainTrue and the Hiwassee River Watershed Coalition! We'll bring together long-time members and supporters of HRWC with staff and local members of MountainTrue. We will have food, games, a tour of one of the Coalition's oldest stream restoration projects (Trout Cove Branch), and Gnarly Fingers is going to play!

One Cello, One Planet: Tryon

The Congregational Church - United Church of Christ 210 Melrose Ave, Tryon, NC

Join us for One Cello One Planet, a concert series that raises awareness for creation care action. All proceeds go to support the work of the Creation Care Alliance. Judith Glixon, a former Asheville resident and principle cellist with the Asheville Symphony and the Brevard Chamber Orchestra, returns to WNC to present a one-hour solo-cello concert about the urgency of climate change. The music of J. S. Bach (Unaccompanied Suites #1 & 3), Benjamin Britten (final movement of Suite for Cello, Op.72), Ravel and a recent composition by Daniel Crawford will take listeners through an abridged history of the human race (with an emphasis on Western civilization) from its beginning until today. Ticket sales for the concert will support the work that the Creation Care Alliance does to bring practical and hopeful solutions to our congregations and broader secular communities by engaging hearts and minds through inspiration, education, service, and advocacy. The Creation Care Alliance is a program of MountainTrue, WNC's champion for clean waters, resilient forests, and healthy communities.

Join Asheville GreenWorks, MountainTrue, and 98.1 The River at French Broad Outfitters for the next great installment of the Riverkeeper Beer Series! Come ready to float, cleanup our river, and taste the release of the Riverkeeper Beer at the after party. We will return to the Wedge at Foundation afterwards to celebrate a successful day cleaning up the river.

Come ready to float, cleanup our river, and taste the release of the Hi Wire Riverkeeper Beer at the after party. The party will be at French Broad Outfitters afterwards to celebrate a successful day cleaning up the river.

We will contact you with more details, but the section of river is flatwater and suitable for all paddlers.

Join us for our fourth annual Sarah Sweep river clean up. After the clean-up we will head back to the Cotton Mill for an evening of fabulous local music, the best grilled veggies and meats, and friendship fun for all. There is a suggested $10 donation for the food and music to help raise funds for the Broad Riverkeeper program and the Double Shoals Mill.
