    From September 1 through the end of 2025, every Monday at Iron Key Brewing Co. is dedicated to the Green River. They will donate $2 from every pint sold to MountainTrue’s Green Riverkeeper program. Sip your favorite brew, support clean water, and help protect the Green River — one pint at a time.

    MountainTrue French Broad River Section 10 Clean-Up #3 in Tennessee 10/16

    Volunteers are invited to help clean up Helene-deposited trash from the French Broad River in Cocke County, Tennessee with MountainTrue’s French Broad Riverkeeper team and outfitters associated with the Nolichucky Outdoor Recreation Association. This clean-up will be boat-based and focus on the river between the North Carolina / Tennessee state line at Paint Rock and Wolf Creek Boat Launch in Del Rio. This stretch of river is often referred to as “Section 10” and contains numerous class II rapids.

    You are invited to join MountainTrue in welcoming the Upper New Riverkeeper to their role at The Speckled Trout Outfitters + Tap Room in Downtown Boone! This is an opportunity to meet Hannah Woodburn, ask questions, share water quality concerns, or swap river stories about the New River. Guests who sign up in advance or walk in to visit the MountainTrue table will be entered in a prize raffle.

    This event has been POSTPONED. Check back in early 2026 for updates. Join MountainTrue and SewAVL for a fun evening of creative expression as you create a custom fabric patch (one-of-kind appliqué) to adorn a shirt or jacket from your closet! Breathe some new life into your wardrobe by embellishing your top while upcycling fabrics that have been curated and pulled from the piles that could have wound up in the landfill. You will get to select up to 3-4 elements of your choosing from the fabric options at the event. Once you have designed your patch, instructor Karmen will sew it onto your garment so you can take it with you when you leave. Light refreshments will be available!

    MountainTrue Trail Workday with the Carolina Mountain Club Friday Crew near Asheville, NC 10/24

    Join Carolina Mountain Club and MountainTrue for a day of trail maintenance. This is a chance to learn trail maintenance techniques and contribute to the upkeep of local trails. Work could include digging tread, cutting brush, moving downed trees, and more.

    The Funkatorium 147 Coxe Ave., Asheville, NC

    MountainTrue is the non-profit beneficiary for Kick It Event Management's Wicked Spooky 5k on Saturday, October 25th! How it works: we raise money for our work in exchange for providing volunteers for the event. Any funds raised will support MountainTrue, including the hurricane recovery work we are doing in the community.

    Volunteers will receive a drink ticket for a beer or a n/a beverage after their shift.

    Invasive Plant Removal Workday near Sylva, NC at Pinnacle Park 10/25

    2110 Fisher Crk Rd Sylva, NC

    Join Mountaintrue for a volunteer workday to remove nonnative invasive plants along the Pinnacle Park trail system, in Partnership with the Town of Sylva and Mainspring. We will primarily be pulling up roots and using hand tools to remove invasive plants like Chinese privet, burning bush, and multiflora rose.
