The Southern Regional Office partners with and protects communities in Western North Carolina’s Cleveland, Henderson, Polk, Rutherford, and Transylvania counties through the following programs and initiatives:
- Green Riverkeeper
- Broad Riverkeeper
- Water monitoring programs
- Henderson County Clean Water Team
- MountainTrue Recycling Team
- Promoting greenway and pedestrian infrastructure
- Expanding energy efficiency
- Friends of the Oklawaha Greenway
