NC Department of Environmental Quality Public Hearing on Duke Energy Permit

The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is holding a public hearing on a wastewater permit issue for Duke Energy on August 22. While analysis of this proposal and talking points are forthcoming, we encourage you to plan to attend and push DEQ to protect the French Broad River against toxic coal ash pollution and make Duke Energy clean up its coal ash at Asheville safely and responsibly.
