Invasive Plant Workday at Pinnacle Park in Sylva, NC Spring Series 2024

May 8 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

MountainTrue, in partnership with the Mainspring Conservation Trust and Pinnacle Park Foundation, will be hosting invasive plant removal workdays at the Pinnacle Park in Sylva, NC this spring. Workdays will be targeting nonnative invasive vines and shrubs like English Ivy, Burning Bush, and Multiflora Rose which are notorious for outcompeting native flora.

Come out and help us maintain the wildlife habitat and natural beauty of this amazing park! No prior experience is necessary; we will provide tools and training and the Pinnacle Park Foundation will be providing snacks! We will have large and small tasks available, so volunteers will not need to be able to do strenuous physical labor in order to participate. Please register in advance so that we will have enough tools, gloves, etc. Please leave pets at home.

The workdays will be held on Wednesday, May 8th from 1-4pm.

In case of bad weather on May 8th, we will have a rain date on May 15th from 1-4pm.

Please bring:

Closed-toed shoes (required)
Long pants (recommended)
Long-sleeved shirts (recommended)
Water
Any medications you may need

Contact western region program associate Eve Davis with any questions (wro-wq-habitat@mountaintrue.org).
