We will be cleaning up the Broad River on one of our most popular and scenic sections, Lake Houser to Broad River Greenway, about 5 miles.
Join us for a for-fun fishing tournament on the Broad River! Recognition as the “Broad’s Best Angler” will be given to the fisher person who has the highest combined total length of their three biggest fish. We will also recognize winners for catching the biggest bass, biggest catfish, biggest panfish (bream or crappie) and for the most unusual fish.
All are welcome to join us on this lovely section of river that Sarah Spencer held dear to her heart. We are heading up to the South Mountain foothills for a fun paddle on the cool shady waters of the First Broad River. Just downstream from the South Mountain Game Lands and one of our few Outstanding Resource Waters, this is some of the cleanest and life-filled water in the Broad River basin. The water is likely to be pretty shallow and “bony”, that is, we will be scraping and dragging over quite a few rocks and gravel beds.
